Aramis represents Thai Union in the take-over of Meralliance

The Thai group Thai Union, the worldwide leader in canned tuna and owner amongst other of the famous brands Petit Navire, John West and Mareblu, is about to take over Meralliance, the French leader in smoked salmon sold under private labels and number 4 in Europe, from its founder Gilles Charpentier and the PE houses Azulis and Isatis Capital. This group, based in Brittany, last year generated a turnover of EUR. 160 million and employs 950 people in France, Scotland and Poland. 
With this transaction, Thai Union which has a global turnover of EUR. 3 billion, seeks to penetrate the fresh fish market. The transaction, which is subject to antitrust approval, should be completed in the last quarter of 2014. 
Thai Union is represented in this transaction by Aramis with Raphaël Mellerio (partner) and Saya Reshef, assisted by Aurélien Condomines (partner) and Christine Morice on the antitrust aspects together with Frédéric Milcamps (partner) and Elodie Joly on labour law.
